EasterPictures and Easter Party

Yesterday we tried to take Easter pictures here at the house. There where 9 kids here total(the oldest was 4) and our two rabbits running wild. It was a little crazy but we ended up getting some good pictures.
After the craziness was over at the house we headed out to the park for a Easter Party. I am a member of a local moms group and we always put a party together for the kids for each holiday. The girls did a great job this time organizing. There where over 100 people there with lots of food, a Easter egg hunt, face painting and the Easter Bunny. The kids had a great time. They did the Egg hunt by age and Austin wanted to pretend he was five so he could go with the bigger kids. When Miranda did her egg hunt she kept walking past eggs and I tried to get her to pick them up and she said "no I only want the Purple ones." It was so cute.

Homosassa Springs State Park

On Wednesday we went to Homosassa Spring State Park. We went with our friends Kerri and her two boys. This is about 30 minutes north of us. We normally go about 2-3 times a year. It is a small wildlife park that has only Florida native animals like birds, alligators, key deer, manatees and a Hippo. Well, Lu the Hippo is not Native but she is just special. The Hippo is the kids favorite part. Miranda love to see them feed her a whole watermelon. But for some reason Lu was not hungry today and did not wake up for her show. The kids did have fun though. It was the first time I took them somewhere and made Miranda walk all day. Normally she sits in the stroller with Mason. She was very good and didn't complain about it once. It will be so nice when I don't have to push my giant double stroller around anymore.

Videos

I have taken a bunch of videos the last few weeks. I will try and post some but they seems to take forever to upload. I will try and get as many as I can.

Kayaking - Rainbow River

This past Saturday I went with a few frineds of mine for a girls day out. We went kayaking down the Rainbow River. It is about an hour drive north of us. The river starts at Rainbow Springs State Park and flows 5.6 miles down to the Withalacochee River. The whole river is spring fed so it is crystal clear the whole way. We started near the middle of the river at K.P. Hole and kayaked upstream to the headwaters at the state park. There is not to much of a flow so it wasn't very hard. We then came back and had lunch and then kayaked down the river about 1.5 miles and then turned around and came back to the park. The last little bit was the hardest of the day. We saw a few gators, birds and a family of otters. The weather was perfect, not to hot or too cold. You can tube down this river and we are hoping to take the kids some time soon.

Rogers Park

We had tried to go to Pine Island(our local beach) and they where full so we went to Rogers park instead. I am glad we did. I forgot how much I enjoy this beach. It is very small beach on the Weeki Wachi River. It is fresh spring water so it is always 72 degrees. It felt cold to me but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Behind on the blog

Well, I knew this would happen if I started a blog. I would never be able to keep up with it. I will now try and catch up everything that has happened in the last few weeks. The kids have been sick on and off but I think we are finally getting better. (knock on wood) During the times they haven't been sick we have been to the beach a couple times and started swim class last week. Mason got another tooth (that makes 3) and is working on the next one. On Saturday I got to get away with some friends for the day. We went kayaking down the Rainbow River. It was a great day.

I am going to try and post pictures and videos of all these events today.
